Start with the customer journey
A video earns its place in a campaign when it helps someone take a specific step. A short introduction can explain why a product matters; a demonstration can answer a comparison question; a customer story can provide evidence. The same cut rarely serves all three jobs equally well.
Map the questions people ask at discovery, evaluation and decision. Choose video only where movement, voice or sequence communicates the answer better than a photograph, diagram or written page.
Build a format matrix before filming
List each placement, audience, message, ratio, duration, language and next action. This small table shapes the shot list and avoids trying to crop one finished film into every channel.
- Social introduction: a legible first frame, one point and a relevant next step.
- Product or service demonstration: show the real experience or process and address common objections.
- Website video: support the page’s task without hiding essential information in sound or motion.
- Sales or event presentation: leave enough time for the audience to understand the proof and context.
Our post-production guide covers the handover files, captions and clean versions that make adaptation easier.
Adapt the message without losing the brand
Keep the core claim, visual identity and factual proof consistent. Change the opening, pacing, framing and call to action for each placement. A vertical social cut may introduce the problem; a longer landing-page demonstration may show how the offer works. Neither should promise an outcome the product or service cannot support.
Plan subtitles or on-screen labels when viewers may watch without sound. If the video contains essential information, provide an accessible alternative. W3C’s media planning guidance helps teams include this from the start.
Measure each version by its purpose
View count is a distribution signal, not a sale. For awareness, examine qualified reach and completion in context. For consideration, look at useful visits or interactions. For a conversion page, review enquiries or purchases alongside the page and traffic source. Compare similar audiences and periods before attributing a change to the video.
Channel specifications also change. Confirm the requirements for the actual placement in the Google Ads asset specifications and the other platforms used when exports are approved.
Plan the next campaign
Define the audience question, available proof and delivery channels before committing to a production format. Our creative studio can shape the film and its adaptations; our digital marketing team can define how each version will be distributed and measured. Discuss your campaign with us.
